The passing of Bollywood legend Dharmendra has left fans heartbroken. Among the many discussions that followed, one major concern was the future of Apne 2, a film that was expected to reunite the beloved trio — Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, and Bobby Deol — once again on the big screen.
After Dharmendra’s demise, there were strong speculations that the film might be shelved. Even director Anil Sharma had earlier expressed that the film was unimaginable without Dharam ji. However, the makers have now addressed the rumours and shared an emotional update.
Producer Confirms: “Apne 2 Is Not Shelved”
Producer Deepak Mukut has officially clarified that Apne 2 will definitely be made. He urged people not to believe false claims and confirmed that the film is progressing with full dedication.
He said:
“People should stop spreading rumours. Apne 2 has not been shelved. We are working on it quietly and steadily. The film is happening with complete determination. This is a very emotional project for us.”
“Apne Was Dharam Ji’s Film… Apne 2 Will Be a Tribute”
Deepak Mukut further expressed that the essence of Apne is deeply rooted in Dharmendra’s presence, warmth, and spirit. According to him, everything that made Apne special came from Dharam ji’s values and his strong bond with the Deol family.
He added:
“Apne 2 is very close to my heart. In many ways, it will be a tribute to Dharam ji — a celebration of his legacy and the magic he created on screen.”
Dharmendra’s Last Project
Dharmendra breathed his last at the age of 89 at Sunny Villa in Mumbai. After his passing, his film Ekkis is set to release posthumously in theatres.
