'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4' in the Works? Kartik Aaryan Set to Return as Rooh Baba, Makers Hunt for a Fresh Story

The blockbuster 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa' franchise is gearing up for its fourth chapter, with early discussions already underway. After the success of the first three films, the makers are reportedly planning to take the popular horror-comedy series to the next level, with Kartik Aaryan expected to reprise his fan-favourite role as Rooh Baba.

According to reports, producer Bhushan Kumar and his creative team have begun brainstorming ideas for the next instalment. The focus is currently on finding a unique and engaging storyline that can match—or surpass—the success of the previous films. Kartik Aaryan is also said to be actively involved in the initial creative discussions, as he is keen to return to the franchise.

The 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa' series began in 2007 with Akshay Kumar in the lead role under the direction of Priyadarshan. The film went on to become a cult classic. The franchise was later revived with 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' and 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3', both starring Kartik Aaryan and directed by Anees Bazmee. The success of these films helped establish Rooh Baba as one of Bollywood's most popular comedy characters in recent years.

Reports suggest that the makers are once again in talks with Anees Bazmee to direct the fourth instalment. While discussions are said to be progressing positively, the final agreement is reportedly dependent on completing financial negotiations. If everything goes as planned, Bazmee is expected to return to helm the next chapter of the franchise.

At present, Anees Bazmee is occupied with another major project featuring Akshay Kumar, along with Vidya Balan and Raashii Khanna. The film is being produced by Dil Raju and is expected to hit theatres later this year. Once his current commitments are completed, he is likely to shift focus to the development of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4.

Although the project is still in its early stages and no official announcement has been made regarding the storyline or release date, the franchise's growing popularity has generated significant excitement among fans. If the creative team succeeds in finding a compelling new plot, Rooh Baba's return could once again deliver a blend of horror, humour, and entertainment that audiences have come to expect from the series.
