The year 2025 has seen multiple box-office clashes, and even as the year nears its end, the competition remains intense. This weekend, two very different Bollywood films released head-to-head: Farhan Akhtar’s war drama 120 Bahadur and the fourth installment of the popular comedy franchise Masti 4.
Masti is a long-running franchise that began in 2004 and returns after 21 years with its fourth chapter. In contrast, 120 Bahadur is a real-life war drama based on the 1962 Indo-China conflict. With the opening weekend numbers now available, here’s a look at which film performed better.
120 Bahadur: First weekend earnings
120 Bahadur opened modestly but showed strong day-to-day growth:
• Day 1: ₹2.25 crore
• Day 2: ₹3.85 crore
• Day 3: ₹4 crore
This brings its total first weekend collection to ₹10.10 crore. The film recorded an upward trend on all three days, reflecting positive word of mouth.
Masti 4: First weekend earnings
Masti 4 also opened steadily, though its growth was slightly slower:
• Day 1: ₹2.75 crore
• Day 2: ₹2.75 crore
• Day 3: ₹3 crore
This brings the comedy’s opening weekend total to ₹8.50 crore.
Who leads the box office clash?
While Masti 4 opened higher on Day 1, the weekend verdict favors 120 Bahadur, which surged ahead with stronger growth and a higher three-day total. With both films targeting very different audiences, the competition remains close—but 120 Bahadur holds the first-weekend edge.
