Dhurandhar vs Tere Ishq Mein: Even five ‘Dhurandhars’ can’t shake Kriti–Dhanush’s romantic storm

Dhurandhar, the latest directorial venture of Aditya Dhar, has taken the box office by storm. Backed by a powerful storyline and a stellar star cast, the film has achieved a massive ₹100 crore collection in just three days. Riding high on success, the spy thriller is now locked in a fierce box office battle with Tere Ishq Mein, starring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon.

Despite early speculations that the grand release of Dhurandhar might overshadow Anand L. Rai’s romantic drama, that hasn’t happened. Instead, Tere Ishq Mein has shown exceptional strength and continues to perform solidly in theatres.

Tere Ishq Mein Box Office Performance

Directed by Anand L. Rai, Tere Ishq Mein has completed 10 successful days at the box office. According to Sacnilk data, the film earned an impressive ₹83.65 crore in its first week alone. Its daily collections on Day 8, 9, and 10 stood at ₹3.75 crore, ₹5.7 crore, and ₹6.9 crore respectively, pushing the 10-day total past the ₹100 crore mark.

Budget vs Worldwide Collection

The film is made on a budget of approximately ₹85 crore. In just 10 days, it has reportedly earned around ₹134 crore worldwide, officially recovering its budget and entering the profit zone. Even in the face of Dhurandhar’s box office storm, Tere Ishq Mein has stood its ground remarkably well.

Dhurandhar vs Tere Ishq Mein: A Clash of Genres & Star Power

Dhurandhar features a massive Bollywood ensemble including Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal and R. Madhavan. Made on a hefty budget of nearly ₹280 crore, the film is positioned as a high-octane spy thriller.

On the other hand, Tere Ishq Mein is a romantic drama with emotion as its biggest strength. The fact that a love story is holding its own against a large-scale spy thriller with such a massive star cast is truly commendable.
