Long before chemical skincare products filled store shelves, our grandmothers relied on ubtan—simple, natural scrubs made from kitchen ingredients. These scrubs gently exfoliate, nourish, and brighten not just the face, but also hands, feet, and the entire body—without preservatives, artificial colours, or fragrances.
How to use ubtan correctly:
Apply 15–20 minutes before bathing. Once semi-dry, remove with gentle circular massage and rinse. This helps prevent dryness and improves glow.
Below are three easy, traditional ubtan recipes you can make at home.
1) Turmeric–Sandalwood Ubtan (For glow & tan removal)
Why it works:
-
Turmeric helps reduce tan and dullness
-
Sandalwood soothes and softens skin

-
Sandalwood powder – 2 tsp
-
Milk – as needed
-
Rose water – a few drops
-
Coconut oil – ½ tsp

Mix all ingredients into a smooth paste. Apply on face, hands, and feet. Leave for 15–20 minutes, then massage off gently and rinse.
2) Gram Flour–Oats Scrub (For dead skin & oil control)

3) Neem–Aloe Vera Scrub (For pimples, rashes & soothing)

Aloe vera hydrates and calms irritation
