Haircare Tips: Hair Fall Will Reduce, Dandruff May Improve—Apply This One Thing Mixed with Coconut Oil

In today’s lifestyle, problems like hair fall, dandruff, dryness, and itchy scalp have become very common. Stress, poor diet, pollution, and excessive use of chemical-based hair products often weaken hair roots and disturb scalp health. Even after using expensive shampoos and treatments, many people don’t see lasting results.

However, some simple home remedies, when used correctly, can help support scalp health. One such remedy involves coconut oil—an age-old haircare ingredient—mixed with a common kitchen item.

Why coconut oil works
Coconut oil has been used for centuries to nourish the scalp and hair. It helps retain moisture, strengthens hair shafts, and supports overall scalp health. When combined with certain natural ingredients, its benefits may increase further.

Mix camphor with coconut oil
Camphor is traditionally believed to be helpful for scalp-related issues. It has antifungal and antibacterial properties, which may help reduce dandruff, itching, and irritation. It also creates a cooling effect on the scalp and is thought to improve blood circulation, which can help strengthen hair roots.

How to prepare camphor hair oil
– Take 2½ teaspoons of coconut oil
– Add a small amount of camphor (about ¼ teaspoon or one small tablet)
– Gently heat the oil until the camphor dissolves completely
– Let the oil cool down

Massage this oil gently into your scalp using your fingertips. Leave it on for 30–60 minutes or overnight if it suits your scalp, then wash with a mild shampoo. Always do a patch test before first use, as camphor can cause irritation in sensitive skin.

Onion juice with coconut oil for hair
Another commonly used remedy is onion juice mixed with coconut oil. Onion is rich in sulphur, which supports collagen production and may help reduce hair fall. It can also help with scalp infections and dandruff when used occasionally.

How to make onion hair oil
– Take 2–3 tablespoons of coconut oil
– Add 1–2 tablespoons of fresh onion juice
– Mix well and massage into the scalp

Leave it on for about one hour, then wash with shampoo. It’s best not to leave onion juice on the scalp overnight, as it can cause irritation or strong odour.

Important things to keep in mind
– Results vary from person to person
– These remedies support hair care but are not medical treatments
– Excessive hair fall, dandruff, or scalp issues may require medical advice
– Always use mild shampoos and avoid overuse of oils
