How much electricity does a 1.5 ton AC consume in an hour? Know how much the bill will be in a month?

The cool air of AC helps a lot in saving from the scorching heat. The electricity bill also increases rapidly due to the use of AC. Do you know how many units of electricity an AC with 1.5 ton capacity consumes in an hour and how much will be the bill for running it continuously for 8-10 hours?

AC Electricity Consumption Bill in One Month: Summer has also knocked with the arrival of April month. The heat is now gradually increasing and in such a situation fans and coolers have also started. The month of April will pass with fans and coolers but only air conditioners will accompany us in the scorching heat of May-June and July. Many people have already started the AC. With the increase in heat, the demand for AC also increases rapidly, this is the reason why a huge jump is seen in its sale in the month of May and June. AC gives us relief from the heat but do you know how much electricity your AC consumes in an hour.

In the scorching heat of summer, coolers also fail completely. In such a situation, only the cool air of AC gives relief. But as soon as AC starts being used, the electricity bill also starts increasing rapidly. This is the reason why many people get AC installed but use it for only a few hours to avoid a high bill. Let us tell you that if you use AC continuously for 8-10 hours daily, then how much electricity will be consumed and how much will be the bill.

How much will the bill be for running AC for 10 hours?

If you have installed an AC with a capacity of 1.5 tons, then on an average it consumes about 2.25 units of electricity every hour. If you are using the AC for 10 hours every day, then 22.5 units of electricity will be consumed daily. In this way, your AC will consume 675 units of electricity in the whole month i.e. 30 days.

We assume that the electricity rate in your area is Rs 7 per unit, then the total cost of electricity in one month will be 675 units x Rs 7 = Rs 475 per month. If you are using appliances like refrigerator, cooler, washing machine along with AC, then the electricity bill can reach Rs 6000 to 8000.

Know the electricity bill of AC on hourly basis

  1. If you run AC for 6 hours daily, then a total of 405 units of electricity will be consumed and the bill will be Rs 2,835
  2. If you are running the AC for 8 hours every day, a total of 540GB units of electricity will be consumed, the bill for which will be Rs 3,780.
  3. If you are running the AC for 12 hours, a total of 810 units of electricity will be consumed, the monthly bill of which will be around Rs 5670.
