India's tour of England, starting on July 20, will be live-streamed on Jiostar. According to media reports, Jiostar has acquired the exclusive digital rights to the upcoming series between England and India. At present, no official announcement has been made in this regard.

TV rights retained with Sony

The country's leading sports broadcast network has completed a digital deal with Sony Entertainment Network or Culver Max Entertainment Pvt Ltd. Talks have been going on between the networks for the last month and it is believed that an agreement has been reached in the last 24 hours. Sony has agreed to sub-license for digital streaming of the matches but has retained the linear rights of the series, which will now be shown on Sony Sports Network.

Tour longer than a month.

Till the time of writing the news, no immediate response was received from either Sony or Jio Star, but it is learned that an announcement will be made later in this regard. The other four Test matches to be played in England will be held in Birmingham (from July 2), Lord's (from July 10), Manchester (July 23) and finally the Oval (from July 31).

Deal done till 2026?

The current deal between Sony and Jio Star is believed to remain in force for next year's white-ball series as well. India is scheduled to play three ODIs and five T20 Internationals in England in the summer of 2026 and JioStar will also broadcast those eight matches.

Sony has rights to the England tour.

Sony last year acquired the rights from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in an eight-year deal running until 2031, giving it exclusive broadcast rights for all England cricket properties in India. In the current arrangement between Jio, Star, and Sony, the ECB has also played a key role in facilitating the agreement.
