Japan earthquake: Was Prabhas in the country during the tremors? Director Maruti confirms actor is safe

Fans of pan-India star Prabhas were left worried after a powerful 7.5-magnitude earthquake struck Japan on Tuesday, triggering tsunami warnings in several coastal areas. The concern intensified as Prabhas had recently travelled to Japan for the promotion of his film “Baahubali: The Epic”.

Soon after the news of the earthquake broke, social media was flooded with posts from anxious fans seeking updates on the actor’s safety. Putting all concerns to rest, director Maruti, who is currently working with Prabhas on “The Raja Saab”, confirmed that the actor is safe.

Maruti responds to worried fan

A fan had posted on Instagram expressing concern, stating that an earthquake had hit Japan and that Prabhas was reportedly scheduled to return the next day. Responding to the post, Maruti wrote, “I have spoken to my darling. He is not in Tokyo and he is completely safe. Nothing to worry about.”

However, Maruti did not clarify whether Prabhas was present in Japan at the exact time the earthquake struck.

Prabhas had recently visited Japan

Prabhas had travelled to Japan about three days ago for the promotion of “Baahubali: The Epic”. He had also shared photos from the visit along with a heartfelt note sent by filmmaker S. S. Rajamouli, writing, “Darling SS Rajamouli, I love you so much. Missing you in Japan. We will both be back again.”

According to reports, at least 27 people were injured and thousands of homes were damaged due to the powerful earthquake.

What is Prabhas working on now?

Prabhas is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film The Raja Saab, which is scheduled to hit theatres on January 9 next year. The film also stars Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal and Riddhi Kumar. Actor Sanjay Dutt will be seen in a negative role. The trailer, released recently, has received a positive response from audiences.
