‘King’ Shoot Moved from Dubai to Mumbai Amid Security Concerns

The shooting schedule of Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming action thriller King has been significantly revised, with the makers cancelling a planned Dubai schedule due to rising tensions in the Middle East.

Dubai Schedule Cancelled for Safety Reasons
A major action sequence was originally set to be filmed in the Dubai desert this April, with all preparations and permissions already in place. However, concerns over regional instability led the production team to prioritise the safety of the cast and crew by calling off the shoot.

Actors Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan, and Anil Kapoor were expected to be part of this sequence.

Desert Set to Be Recreated in Mumbai
Instead of postponing the shoot or moving to another international location, the makers have decided to recreate the Dubai desert in Mumbai. A large-scale set is currently under construction at Vile Parle Studios to replicate the landscape.

The action scenes will now be filmed in this controlled environment, with support from international technical teams to maintain the film’s scale and quality.

Production Timeline Remains Unchanged
The decision to shift locations ensures that the production stays on schedule. The makers have acted quickly to avoid delays and keep the project on track.

Big-Budget Film Aims for Christmas Release
Directed by Siddharth Anand, King has been in production since 2025 and is expected to be one of Shah Rukh Khan’s most expensive films. It will also mark the theatrical debut of Suhana Khan, while Abhishek Bachchan is set to play a key role.
