In Hinduism, Goddess Lakshmi is revered as the deity of wealth, prosperity, and abundance. When Maa Lakshmi is pleased, the household prospers and flourishes. To seek her blessings, devotees perform special worship and rituals dedicated to her. Friday is considered especially auspicious for invoking her grace, as the day is traditionally associated with Goddess Lakshmi.

On Fridays, worshipping the Goddess with devotion and observing a fast is believed to bring happiness, prosperity, and financial stability. Reciting the Sri Lakshmi Chalisa during worship is particularly beneficial. It is said that chanting this Chalisa with faith draws the blessings of the Goddess of Fortune into the home.

Make everything fragrant, hail mother Jagadamba.

Quatrains

Sindhu Suta Main Sumiraun Tohi. Give me knowledge, wisdom and knowledge.
There is no one as kind as you. All our wishes have been fulfilled.

Jai Jai Jagat Janani Jagadamba. You are the self-sufficiency of all.
You are the dweller of every heart. This is our main request.

You are the mother of the world, you are the benefactor of the poor.
I pray to you daily, O Queen. Please bless the world, Mother Bhavani.

How should I praise you? Take care and forget your crimes.
Please look at me, O mother of the world, listen to my request.

Giver of wisdom and happiness. Remove all troubles, our mother.

When Vishnu churns the milk of Sindhu. Find fourteen gems in Sindhu.
You are Sukhrasi among the fourteen gems. You served the Lord as his servant.

Wherever the Lord was born, He changed His form and served Him.
When Vishnu himself took the human form, he took the incarnation of Awadhpuri.

Then you appeared Janakpur Maahi. Serve the heart bridge somewhere.

If you adopt then you are antaryami. Lord of the world famous Tribhuvan.
You are not powerful enough. How far can I describe your glory?

Mind, action and words serve. I get the desired results.
Leaving behind deceit and cleverness, I worshipped Him in various ways.

And how can I quench my thirst? Whoever recites this will be satisfied.
He will not suffer any pain. He will get the desired result.

Trahi Trahi Jai, remover of sorrow. May you lose the bondage of threefold heat.

Whoever reads and gets this Chalisa read, listens to it attentively and recites it.
He will not be troubled by any disease and will get wealth and property like sons.

He was childless and without wealth, blind, deaf, leper, and extremely poor.
Call a Brahmin to recite the text. Never let doubt enter your heart.

He should recite Chalisa daily. May Gaurisa bless him.
You will get a lot of happiness and wealth. There will be no shortage of anything.

He who worships throughout the year, there is no one as blessed as him.
He recites it daily in his mind. There is no one like him in the world.

How can I praise you in so many ways? Take the test with concentration.
Having faith in this, I observe the fast. It becomes perfect and love grows in my heart.

Hail, hail, hail, Lakshmi Maharani. The virtues that pervade all.
Your brilliance is strong in this world. I cannot think of anyone as merciful as you.

Now take care of me, the orphan. Remove my troubles and give me devotion.
Please forgive my mistakes. Please give me a glimpse of my condition.

The officer is worried without seeing him. You are the one bearing the burden of eternal sorrow.

I do not have knowledge or wisdom in my body. You know everything in your mind.
Taking the form of Chaturbhu, please alleviate my suffering.

How can I praise you? Knowledge and wisdom do not exceed me.
