New Delhi.  Neeraj Chopra along with Rohit Yadav and Yashveer Singh have qualified for the final of the men's javelin throw event at the Commonwealth Games 2026. Former Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra began his campaign at the Commonwealth Games 2026 with a throw of 76.28 metres in the first round. Neeraj threw the javelin to a distance of 79.61 metres in his second attempt. Chopra comfortably qualified for the final by finishing fifth with his best throw of 79.61 metres. Along with Neeraj Chopra, India's Rohit Yadav (78.37 metres) and Yashveer Singh (78.36 metres) also performed brilliantly, finishing ninth and tenth respectively and qualifying for the final.

Meanwhile, Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem failed to improve on his opening attempt, finishing seventh with a throw of 78.63 meters. Sri Lanka's Rumesh Pathirage topped the qualifying round with a throw of 82.84 meters, while Grenada's Anderson Peters (81.29 meters), South Africa's Douwe Smit (80.64 meters), and England's Ben East (80.38 meters) took second, third, and fourth places, respectively. Australia's Cameron McEntyre (78.91 meters – sixth), Bahamas' Keyshawn Strachan (78.60 meters – eighth), Trinidad and Tobago's Keshorn Walcott (78.26 meters – 11th), and Nigeria's Chinecherem Nnamdi (75.27 meters – 12th) also qualified for the title clash by making it to the top 12.

Neeraj Chopra is returning to the Commonwealth Games after a long gap of 8 years.
