Alwar: The anti-encroachment squad of Alwar UIT took action on Thursday morning against hotels operating without permission and land conversion in and around the flow area of the historic Siliserh Lake. Since morning, 10 hotels have been sealed. Encroachments in some hotels have been demolished with bulldozers. Currently, the action is continuing in the area. This has created an atmosphere of panic among the hotel owners and those engaged in commercial activities.

These hotels were sealed

The Alwar UIT sealed the Desi That Hotel, located on the slopes of Siliserh, on Thursday morning. Hotel Medhavan, The Jungle Lep, Naman Bagh, and Fatehgarh Farm were also sealed. The UIT's anti-encroachment squad demolished the guard room of the Desi That Hotel.

Action taken for not responding to the notice

UIT officials say that a notice was issued 15 days ago to those operating hotels without land conversion. A second notice was subsequently issued. Due to non-response to the notice, the sealing action was initiated today. Following the action, hotel operators can appeal and show their documents. After this, the encroachment will be demolished with a bulldozer.

The hotel's guard room was demolished.

Early Thursday morning, a joint team of the UIT, police, and administration arrived at Hotel Desi Thath, located in the catchment area near the dam in the Siliserh area. The Desi Thath Hotel, located on the banks of the Siliserh Dam, was initially sealed. The guard room near one of the hotel's gates was then demolished. Subsequently, Medhavan, The Jungle Lep, and Naman Bagh Fatehgarh Farm Hotel Resort were sealed. To prevent any unrest or law and order disruption during the operation, a large police contingent was present alongside the Alwar UIT squad.

Manvendra Jaiswal, in-charge of the UIT's encroachment squad, stated that the Alwar UIT had deemed 10 hotels in the Siliserh area as illegal constructions, and notices were issued to them, leading to the sealing action today. If hotel operators continue to operate after removing the seals, criminal charges will be filed.
