Two of the most anticipated South Indian films—Mahesh Babu’s Varanasi and Ram Charan’s Peddi—created a strong buzz among fans with special teaser releases on the occasion of Ram Navami. In a combined runtime of nearly 60 seconds, the makers offered a striking preview that quickly grabbed attention across social media.
SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi, slated for release on April 7, 2027, unveiled a brief 15-second glimpse featuring a visual inspired by Lord Hanuman. The clip, shared by the makers, hints at a larger narrative rooted in the Ramayana, with reports suggesting that a full segment of the film will be dedicated to the epic. The project stars Mahesh Babu in the lead, alongside Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
Meanwhile, Ram Charan’s Peddi also impressed audiences with a 45-second teaser revealing the actor’s intense new look. Portrayed as a wrestler, Charan appears in a rugged avatar with long hair, a thick beard, and a powerful presence, holding a mace—an image that has been widely appreciated by fans. The film, co-starring Janhvi Kapoor and backed by Buchi Babu, is now scheduled to release on April 30 after facing a delay.
The simultaneous release of these glimpses on Ram Navami added to the excitement, highlighting the scale and ambition of both projects. With strong visuals and mythological undertones, Varanasi and Peddi are shaping up to be major cinematic offerings from the South film industry.
