RCB Set to Release Yash Dayal? Uncertainty Grows Ahead of IPL 2026

As Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) intensify preparations for IPL 2026, speculation is mounting over the future of fast bowler Yash Dayal, who has been noticeably absent from the team’s training camp.

Dayal’s absence has raised eyebrows among fans and insiders alike, especially after reports suggested that his image has also been removed from the team bus graphics. While the franchise has not issued any official statement, these developments have fueled rumours that RCB may be considering parting ways with the left-arm pacer.

According to media reports, Dayal has recently distanced himself from cricketing activities. Even his childhood coach has reportedly been unable to establish contact with him. A Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) official also indicated that attempts to reach the player, including those initiated after a call from the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence, have been unsuccessful, as Dayal is said to have changed his phone number.

Compounding the uncertainty are serious legal issues reportedly involving the cricketer. Dayal is facing two separate criminal cases registered in Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh) and Jaipur (Rajasthan). While the matter is under legal consideration, it appears to have had a significant impact on his professional commitments.

Yash Dayal has been part of RCB since IPL 2024 and featured regularly for the franchise over the past two seasons. In 29 matches, he picked up 28 wickets, contributing as a key member of the bowling unit.

With IPL 2026 approaching, RCB now faces a crucial decision regarding Dayal’s future. Until an official confirmation is made, his status with the team remains uncertain.
