Actor and content creator Rhea Chakraborty has revealed that she is seriously considering egg freezing at the age of 33. The actress made this disclosure in the latest episode of her podcast Chapter 2, where she was in conversation with actor Huma Qureshi.
Speaking openly about her personal life, marriage, and future plans, Rhea shared that she recently consulted a gynecologist to understand the egg-freezing process. “I’m 33 years old and I recently went to a gynecologist for egg freezing. I’m thinking about doing it,” she said during the podcast.
“I already feel like I have children”
Explaining her thought process, Rhea said that while her biological clock suggests it may be a good time to have children, emotionally she already feels responsible for several “children” in the form of her brand, business, and work commitments.
She added that she does not view egg freezing in a romantic way and acknowledged that the process can be physically demanding. However, she strongly feels that women should consider it as a viable option available in today’s time.
Not ready for marriage yet
Rhea also clarified that she is not ready to get married or settle down at this stage of her life, as her professional goals currently take priority. She shared that many of her friends had opted for egg freezing in their 20s and 30s, which influenced her to explore the option as well.
Reflecting on her mindset over the years, she said that even at 25, she felt she had much more to achieve in her career before starting a family. According to her, delaying parenthood feels like a more practical and informed decision at this point.
Through her podcast Chapter 2, Rhea has been engaging in open conversations around mental health, personal growth, and life after setbacks, marking a new professional chapter in her journey.
