Toyota Kirloskar Motor has officially plugged into India’s mass-market electric vehicle segment with the launch of its highly anticipated SUV, the Urban Cruiser Ebella. Debuting with an aggressive introductory price of ₹23.60 lakh (ex-showroom) for its top-spec configuration, this electric SUV is set to spark a fierce turf war.
The Ebella enters a highly competitive arena, taking aim directly at established rivals like the MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv EV, and the upcoming Hyundai Creta Electric.
While the Urban Cruiser Ebella is a born twin to the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara—sharing the same underlying architecture and core mechanical DNA—Toyota has given the EV its own distinct identity. The SUV features the brand's international styling, highlighted by a sculpted, rugged bonnet, muscular side character lines, and aerodynamically optimized alloy wheels. For now, Toyota has only dropped the price for the flagship variant, promising to reveal the cost of lower-tier trims in the coming weeks.

Step inside the cabin, and the Ebella welcomes you with a sophisticated dual-tone black and brown interior finish. While the overall layout mirrors its Maruti cousin, Toyota has loaded the dashboard with premium amenities.
The focal point is a crisp 10.1-inch central infotainment display, paired with a premium JBL sound system and customizable ambient lighting. To keep passengers comfortable through extreme weather, the SUV comes equipped with a large panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a dial-type rotary gear selector, a wireless phone charging pad, automatic climate control, and an integrated cabin air purifier.
2. Uncompromised Safety: Level-2 ADAS Shield
Toyota has put a massive emphasis on safety with the Ebella, wrapping the vehicle in a robust electronic security blanket. To protect occupants, the electric SUV comes standard with seven airbags and a high-definition 360-degree camera system for seamless parking in tight spaces.
More importantly, it features an advanced Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite. This brings autonomous safety tech like lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and emergency braking to Toyota's new EV lineup.
3. Vibrant Personalization: The Palette Choices
Expressing personal style is easy with the Ebella, thanks to a diverse array of color choices. The SUV is available in solid monotone shades like Cafe White, Bluish Black, Gaming Gray, Sportin' Red, and Enticing Silver.
For those who prefer a sporty look, Toyota offers a striking dual-tone aesthetic featuring a contrast Black Roof paired with Cafe White, Land Breeze Green, Sportin' Red, or Enticing Silver body colors.
The EV Buying Journey: Securing Your Ebella
If you are looking to park Toyota's first mass-market electric SUV in your garage, the acquisition pipeline follows these steps:
Choose between the city-friendly 49 kWh battery or the long-range 61 kWh variant, and decide if your driving needs require the added traction of the All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system.
Pick your preferred colorway, deciding between the premium monotone finishes or opting for the standout dual-tone paint with a contrast black roof.
Ahead of vehicle delivery, coordinate with the dealership to set up your home AC wall-box charger, allowing you to maximize the efficiency of the vehicle's robust LFP battery pack.
