After making a strong impact with the bat in the ODI series against South Africa, Indian cricket star Virat Kohli is now preparing for a big move in the business world. According to recent reports, Kohli is set to sell his premium lifestyle brand One8 in a deal valued at over ₹100 crore.
As per sources, One8 will be acquired by Bengaluru-based startup Agilitas. Along with exiting the brand as the primary owner, Kohli will also invest ₹40 crore from his personal funds to become a minority shareholder in Agilitas. This will make One8 the second major acquisition for Agilitas after the takeover of Mochiko Shoes.
What Is the Current Valuation of One8?
Apart from running premium restaurants, the One8 brand is also involved in lifestyle and fashion products. The brand is reported to have a valuation of around ₹112 crore. The company is currently managed by Virat Kohli’s childhood friend Vartik Tihara and his elder brother Vikas Kohli.
Agilitas had earlier acquired Mochiko Shoes, which manufactures footwear for leading global brands like Adidas, Puma, New Balance, Skechers, Reebok and Crocs. With the One8 acquisition, Agilitas is now strengthening its presence in the premium lifestyle and sportswear segment.
Virat Kohli’s Expanding Business Empire
Virat Kohli is not just one of the world’s finest cricketers, but also among India’s most successful athlete-investors. His total net worth is now estimated to be over ₹1,000 crore. Kohli has invested in more than 13 businesses across sectors such as fashion, fitness, food, technology and sports.
His major investments include brands like Wrogn, Nueva and Chisel Fitness. In sports, he is the co-owner of FC Goa, UAE Royals and Bengaluru Yodhas. He also holds a stake in the insurance tech company Go Digit.
Virat Kohli’s Business Move Signals a New Phase
By selling One8 and simultaneously investing in Agilitas, Virat Kohli has once again shown his sharp business acumen. This strategic move allows him to unlock the brand’s value while staying invested in its future growth through equity participation.
