Weather to change in Delhi, heavy storm and rain alert in next two days, know IMD update

The weather in Delhi-NCR is experiencing frequent changes. The temperature in the national capital has dropped below 40 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms and rain in the coming two days. Today's weather in Delhi-NCR will remain clear, with a possible cloud cover.

The minimum temperature in the NCR is expected to be around 37 degrees Celsius, with a maximum temperature of 26 degrees Celsius. Rain is not expected in Delhi-NCR today. The humidity is expected to be 27 percent. Winds are expected to blow at speeds of up to 11 kilometers per hour in the NCR.

Cold weather prevails in NCR

Delhi woke to a mild chill on Friday (May 1) morning, with the minimum temperature settling at 22.8 degrees Celsius, 1.9 degrees below the season's normal. The Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms during the day.

According to station-wise data, Palam recorded a minimum temperature of 21.3 degrees Celsius, 4.3 degrees below normal, while Lodhi Road recorded a minimum temperature of 21.8 degrees Celsius, 1.2 degrees below normal.

The Ridge station recorded a minimum temperature of 20.4 degrees Celsius, 4.6 degrees below normal. Ayanagar station recorded a minimum temperature of 21.4 degrees Celsius, 2.2 degrees below normal. The maximum temperature in the city is expected to be around 40 degrees Celsius.

AQI in Delhi-NCR

Delhi's air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 128 at 9 am, which falls in the "moderate" category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board's (CPCB) SAMEER app, 41 monitoring stations were in the "moderate" category, while three were in the "satisfactory" category.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board, an AQI of 0-50 is considered "good," 51-100 "satisfactory," 101-200 "moderate," 201-300 "poor," 301-400 "very poor," and 401-500 "severe." Heavy thunderstorms and rain are expected in Delhi-NCR on May 3rd and 4th.
