"You've been here for 12 years... I've been here for just 12 months."
Priyanka Gandhi, while referring to Pandit Nehru in her speech, said that he lived for the country and died while serving the country. Priyanka Gandhi said that Mr. Speaker, through you I want to give them (members of the ruling party) a piece of advice. She said that our Prime Minister has been in the House for 12 years, I have been here for only 12 months, yet this is a small advice. Priyanka Gandhi recently mentioned the list of 99 insults by the PM during the elections.
Priyanka said, "Make a list of all the complaints you have against Nehru, all the mistakes he made, all the abuses he hurled, all the insults he hurled. We will discuss it. We can discuss it for as many hours as you ask, but don't waste the House's precious time. The House should be discussing the problems of the people." Priyanka's statement was met with opposition from members of the ruling party.
PM's speech was good but lacking in facts.
Priyanka Gandhi, while participating in the discussion on Vande Mataram in the House, also said that there should be no need to discuss the national song because it is embedded in every particle of the country and is connected to the nation's sentiments. Priyanka Gandhi sarcastically said that Prime Minister Modi gives good speeches, but falls short on facts. There is an art to presenting it to the public. I am new, a representative of the people, not an artist. Therefore, I want to present some facts.
