Rs 467.95 crore was spent on the first day of the IPL 2025 mega auction. There were 72 players who got a new team and many managed to stay with their old team. But do you know who will be seen captaining all the 10 teams in IPL 2025? Although many teams are yet to make an official announcement regarding this. But, according to estimates, the situation is almost clear as to who is going to lead which team in IPL 2025. These speculations are also being made because whether it is IPL 2025 retention or mega auction, teams have spent crores on those players.

Now let's find out who can be seen captaining which team. First of all, know that the 10 teams of IPL 2025 have together spent Rs 199.35 crore on those players. So who can be those faces who will be captaining, now let's know that too.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)- In the mega auction of IPL 2025, this team opened its vault to buy Rishabh Pant. It spent Rs 27 crore on Pant, making him the most expensive player not only of this season but of the entire IPL history. Lucknow has spent so much money on Pant, so obviously apart from wicket-keeping and batting, it must be seeing its captain in him. The big thing is that Pant has had the experience of captaincy in IPL before.

Delhi Capitals (DC)- From KL Rahul's point of view, he has lost 3 crores in the mega auction of IPL 2025. Last season, he was getting 17 crores from LSG. But this is a good deal for Delhi Capitals at a low price. Because by spending only 14 crores, he has got the option of keeper, batsman and captain. Rahul was the captain of LSG last season.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK)- Rituraj Gaikwad can be the captain of the yellow jersey Chennai Super Kings. This is because Rituraj was seen leading this team in the last season as well and secondly CSK has also retained him for IPL 2025 for Rs 18 crore.

Punjab Kings (PBKS): Punjab Kings, which entered the mega auction of IPL 2025 with the biggest purse, spent money freely on Shreyas Iyer. They have associated him with themselves for Rs 26.75 crore. Iyer has made KKR the champion under his captaincy last season. In such a situation, it is not difficult to understand why Punjab Kings has placed such a high bid for him? Shreyas Iyyap can be seen captaining Punjab Kings in IPL 2025.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR): This team surprised everyone when it did not try its best to buy Shreyas Iyer. But, it spent Rs 23.75 crore on the other Iyer i.e. Venkatesh Iyer. The surprising thing was that why did Venkatesh get so much money? But, it is possible that KKR is thinking of making him the captain. Venkatesh Iyer himself was seen saying after being sold in the auction that he is ready to captain.

Gujarat Titans (GT): Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill was there last season and will be in IPL 2025 as well. The Gujarat franchise has retained him for the next season for Rs 16.50 crore.

Rajasthan Royals (RR): This team also already has its captain in the form of Sanju Samson. Rajasthan has retained Sanju for Rs 18 crore for IPL 2025.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH): Kavya Maran may have been seen bidding on famous players in the mega auction of IPL 2025. But, the captain of her team will be Pat Cummins in IPL 2025 as well, whom she has already retained for Rs 18 crore.

Mumbai Indians (MI): Mumbai Indians has also clarified the status of its captain in the retention of IPL 2025. It has retained Hardik for 16.35 crores.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB): On the first day of the mega auction of IPL 2025, RCB did not buy a single player who could be said to be capable of captaining the team. In such a situation, the question is whether this team intends to hand over the captaincy to Virat Kohli, whom it has retained for Rs 21 crore.
