There will be 11 matches in these 11 days, which will decide the winner. This new T20 league has the recognition of Cricket West Indies and the full support of the Guyana government.
Names of two out of 5 teams came out.
Caribbean Premier League team Guyana Amazon Warriors will also be seen playing in the Global Super League. Apart from this, 4 more teams will be associated with leagues of other countries of the world. According to ESPNcricinfo, another team playing in the Global Super League could be Hampshire, which has won England's T20 Blast title 3 times.
4-4 matches in the group stage, then final between top-2
There will be 11 matches in the Global Super League, in which all teams will play 4-4 matches in the group stage. The teams that are in the top two positions in the points table will go to the final. All the matches of the league will be played at the Guyana National Stadium in Providence. According to the media release, the Global Super League will be organized every year. However, every time there will be different 5 teams playing from different countries.
Two obstacles of the Global Super League
However, a major hurdle in organizing the Global Super League is its clash with the Abu Dhabi T10 League. When it will be played, the Abu Dhabi T10 League will also be going on at the same time. The Abu Dhabi T10 League will be played from 21 November to 2 December. Apart from this, Bangladesh's tour of the West Indies can also become a hindrance for the Global Super League. Bangladesh has to play a Test series with the West Indies between 22 November and 4 December. After this, there will be a series of 3 ODIs between 8 and 12 December. At the same time, 3 T20 matches will be played between 16 and 20 December.
