A war has broken out between the England Cricket Board and its players. Due to a decision of the ECB, the players of England have now revolted and are now planning to take legal action against their own board. This has created a big controversy. Actually, the ECB had recently issued a new policy for its players. Under this, it had banned England cricketers from playing in the Pakistan Super League. Now the players have decided to take a big step in protest against this decision.

Players will take legal action.

The players, upset with the ECB's decision, have claimed that they are unaware of the new policy of No-Objection Certificate (NOC). Therefore, they have demanded an emergency meeting next week, so that they can understand these rules and find a solution in consultation with the board.

This rule is being opposed mainly by those players who do not have any contract with the ECB or are only on a white ball format contract with the county. They believe that the new policy of the ECB may limit their opportunities and cause them huge losses. That is why they have taken a tough stand. These players are discussing their options with the Professional Cricketers Association (PCA) as well as among themselves on WhatsApp group chat.

According to an ESPNcricinfo report, PCA's interim chief executive Daryl Mitchell has said that the association's legal team is investigating this ECB policy. After estimating the impact of the England Cricket Board's decision, it can be challenged legally. Mitchell further said that the ECB implemented its new policy without any discussion with the players. Because of this, many cricketers in England are angry.

What did the ECB say about the new policy?

ECB Chief Executive Richard Gold has said about the board's decision that this policy has been taken to ensure the strength of domestic cricket. The board has said that players will be allowed to play in other countries' leagues like PSL and CPL only if they do not create hindrances in domestic tournaments like T20 Blast and The Hundred.

However, IPL has been kept out of this rule. Next year, Pakistani league PSL, America's Major League Cricket, Canada's Global T20 League, and Sri Lanka Premier League may clash with England's domestic league. In such a situation, many players in England will prefer to choose the league that pays more, which can have an impact on the ECB.
