'Hardik Pandya should play for himself, not for Team India, he is preparing for IPL'
The Indian team lost the second T20 against South Africa. There was a time when Team India was about to win this match but in the end, Gerald Coetzee's hitting and Tristan Stubbs' batting gave South Africa the victory. After this defeat of Team India, questions are being raised about Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav and all-rounder Hardik Pandya. Former Pakistani cricketer Basit Ali has raised questions about Suryakumar Yadav's captaincy and Pandya's batting approach.
What did Basit Ali say?
Basit Ali alleged on his YouTube channel that Pandya scored only 39 runs in 45 balls, he played for himself. Basit Ali said, 'Why did he play for himself? I think he is preparing for the IPL for Mumbai Indians. Pandya took a single, while Arshdeep also hit a six. India did not lose 9 wickets he refused to take a run. Only 6 of their wickets fell. Pandya should take one run at a time, but Pandya is a big player.'
Questions were also raised on Suryakumar Yadav.
Basit Ali also raised questions on Suryakumar Yadav. According to Basit, Suryakumar Yadav made a big mistake in the match. He said, 'Axar Patel bowled only one over in the match. This player gave only two runs in that over and after this Surya did not bowl to Axar. Axar Patel should have got more overs. Surya bowled to Pandya and he bowled three wide balls and the match shifted from there. At one time it seemed that India would not lose this match. South African batsmen were having trouble against spinners but Axar was not made to bowl.'
Currently, the T20 series between India and South Africa is tied at 1-1. Team India won the first match and South Africa won the second. The third T20 match will be played on November 13 in Centurion.
