Under the captaincy of KL Rahul, India defeated Australia by 99 runs on the basis of Dirkworth-Lewis rule in the second ODI played at Holkar Stadium, Indore.

With this victory, Team India has also captured the three-match ODI series. After the centuries of Shubman Gill (104) and Shreyas Iyer (105), on the basis of stormy innings of Suryakumar Yadav (72 runs 37 balls), India made a huge score of 399 runs for 5 wickets in the stipulated overs, which was the highest score for the team against the Kangaroo team. This is India's biggest score.

Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer were the stars of the day for the Australian bowlers and made a partnership of 200 runs for the second wicket. Australia had a huge target of 317 runs in 33 overs to win in the rain-affected match. In reply, the Australian team was bundled out for only 217 runs in 28.2 overs.
