Mayank Yadav is in the news right now and he should be. The way he has recovered from his injury and made his debut for Team India is commendable in itself. Mayank Yadav made his debut in the first T20 played against Bangladesh at Gwalior ground. The speed that was expected from Mayank was visible on his international debut. Bangladeshi batsmen were forced to put a stop to their batting in front of their strength i.e. speed. Mayank got only 1 wicket but he left a good impression with his bowling. He also did wonders like Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar. And, he gives the credit for all these achievements to the advice he got from Gautam Gambhir.

Mayank Yadav got this advice from Gambhir.

Mayank Yadav revealed the advice he got from Gautam Gambhir on Jio Cinema. There he told what Gautam Gambhir told him before going to make his debut. According to Mayank Yadav, Gautam Gambhir did not ask him to do anything special. He just asked him to move forward with whatever strength he had. Mayank said that Gambhir did not advise him to think too much or do something different. He just asked him to follow the process and stay positive.

Did Ajit Agarkar's work in debut match

Now let's know what Mayank Yadav did on his international debut after getting this advice from Gautam Gambhir. He bowled a maiden over in his first over and joined the club of Indian bowlers who did so in T20I, in which before him only the current chief selector Ajit Agarkar and his fellow bowler in the debut match Arshdeep Singh were named. Ajit Agarkar bowled his first maiden over in T20I in Johannesburg against South Africa in 2006. At the same time, Arshdeep bowled his first maiden over in Southampton while making his debut against England in 2022. Mayank has done the same thing in Gwalior on his T20I debut.

If we look at Mayank Yadav's bowling report card in his debut match against Bangladesh, apart from bowling fast and doing the work of chief selector Ajit Agarkar, he also took 1 wicket giving 21 runs in 4 overs at an economy of 5.25.
