Mahendra Singh Dhoni led Team India to two World Cup wins during his tenure as the captain of the Indian cricket team. His first win was against Sri Lanka in the 2011 World Cup, during which he played with the world's most expensive cricket bat.

While most cricket bats used by cricketers during international matches cost anywhere from Rs 4000 to Rs 10,000, the bat used by MS Dhoni during the 2011 World Cup is considered special and was sold at auction for a hefty price. It was the most expensive bat in the world. 

Earlier, the costliest cricket bat was the Gray Nicholls Legend, which was made from a special English willow and sold for a price of around Rs 1 lakh. MS Dhoni played with the world's most expensive cricket bat in the 2011 World Cup final against Sri Lanka.

MS Dhoni's World Cup-winning bat was recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most expensive cricket bat ever sold. Although this bat was similar to the one used by Dhoni earlier, it sold for Rs 83 lakh during the auction.

MS Dhoni's cricket bat from the 2011 World Cup was included in a charity auction called the 'East Meets West' charity dinner and fetched over £100,000 (Rs 83 lakh) to RK Global Shares & Securities Ltd, according to a report in MensXP.

MS Dhoni has created many records in his highly celebrated cricket career, and it must be noted that early in his career, he had to struggle to even get a bat sponsored. The most expensive bat in the world was sponsored by Reebok.

MS Dhoni has since retired from international cricket and only plays the Indian Premier League (IPL) as the captain of Chennai Super Kings.
