Shreyas Iyer has once again failed in the domestic tournament. In the first match of the Duleep Trophy, he could score only 9 runs in the first innings. He was dismissed by a bowler who plays for Virat Kohli's team Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL. Before this, he had also failed to score any big runs in the Buchi Babu tournament. Iyer could score only 22 runs in both innings against TNCA XI. The Indian team for the Bangladesh Test series is to be announced after the first match of the Duleep Trophy. At the same time, these matches are being called the entry gate to the team. In such a situation, after continuous flops, his selection has come under threat.

The new season of BCCI has started with the Duleep Trophy. All four teams are competing against each other from September 5. India C is competing against India D. In this, Shreyas Iyer is captaining Team D, while Team C is led by Rituraj Gaikwad. Gaikwad won the toss and chose to bowl. His decision proved right. His bowlers bowled brilliantly, in front of which his entire team including Iyer looked helpless. Half of Iyer's team returned to the pavilion for just 34 runs. At the same time, Rituraj's team bowler Vyas Vijay Kumar gave a big blow by dismissing captain Iyer.

Team India has to play a two-Test series against Bangladesh. The team has not been announced for this yet. It is believed that the team can be selected after the first round of the Duleep Trophy. The first-round matches will be played in Bengaluru and Anantapur from 5 to 8 September. Amidst all this, the BCCI has informed that Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, and Prasidh Krishna are injured. Due to this, they will be out of the first round of the Duleep Trophy. This has also put a break on Ishan Kishan's return.

Let us tell you that Sanju Samson will replace Ishan Kishan in the India D team. Apart from this, BCCI has asked the players selected for the Bangladesh series to gather at Chepauk on 12 September. Here the players will start their training for the Test series. Whereas, Bangladesh will start its training here on 15 September.
