WC: Team India could not become world champion, but earned crores despite being runner up!

Team India has lost the final of the World Cup 2023. It lost to Australia in the match played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Team India had a chance to win the World Cup trophy for the third time. They have won the trophy in 1983 and 2011. At the same time, Australia has won the World Cup trophy for the sixth time. There was a chance to become champion for the third time. Even though Team India could not win the final, it performed brilliantly in the entire tournament. They reached the finals by winning 10 consecutive matches. It has been a wonderful journey.

Indian team and Australia were face to face in the final of the World Cup after 20 years. When both the teams clashed in 2003, Australia became the champion. Team India's star batsman Virat Kohli got the Player of the Tournament award after 20 years. Kohli scored 765 runs in the tournament. The bowler who took the most wickets in the tournament was also India's bowler. This achievement was in the name of fast bowler Mohammed Shami. He took 24 wickets. Shami has the most wickets in his name.
