Smartphone Use-Friendly Tips for Elders: Android phones have many features that are very useful for people. But sometimes elderly people like grandparents are not able to use them. They prefer to use the old features but with the help of some easy tips, you can make smartphones easier for grandparents to use. Let us tell you what you have to do. 

block letters

The elderly often have difficulty reading text on the phone. To make it easier, you can increase the size of the letters in the phone. You can also increase the size of the buttons and symbols on the screen. For this, open the Settings app, then go to 'Display' and select the 'Display size and text' option there. 

use launcher app

There are many icons, widgets, and other things on the smartphone screen, which sometimes frightens the elderly. To make things easier for them, you can use apps like BIG Launcher or Elder Launcher. These apps show big boxes that are easy to press.

Use the button

Nowadays, the option of swiping is available on smartphones. Youngsters like it a lot. But it is difficult for older people. You can enable old-fashioned button navigation on their phone. For this, open the Settings app, then go to 'System'. Now select 'Gestures' and choose the '3-button navigation' option. 

Big-button keyboard

A keyboard with large buttons makes typing easier and also puts less strain on the eyes. Most Android phones have the Gboard keyboard. To change the size of the keyboard, open it and press the button with four dots on the top left. Then select 'Resize' and change the size of the keyboard as per your requirement.

Direct caller widget

If your grandparents have trouble finding contacts, you can use the Direct Dial widget. This widget will be dialed once. To place it, press it for a while on the home screen and select Widgets. Then find Contacts or scroll down to find the Direct Dial widget. Move it to the home screen and select the contact you want to call quickly. Place this widget in a location where it is less likely to be accidentally pressed.
