Utility news : Can the 10th pass become a loco pilot?
The driver of a train is called a loco pilot. This job has been placed in the Group B category. Loco pilot is responsible for running the train in Indian Railways.
To become a loco pilot, you have to pass the 10th or 12th examination from any recognized board. For Loco Pilot, a related trade diploma from ITI recognized by NCVT i.e. National Council for Vocational Training or SCVT i.e. State Council for Vocational Training is necessary.
Apart from ITI, candidates can also do a diploma from an institute recognized by AICTE i.e. All India Institute of Technical Education. To become a loco pilot, candidates must be Indian citizens. General and unreserved category candidates should be between 18 to 30 years.
To become a loco pilot, candidates will have to apply online when the recruitment is done by the Railways. Candidates have to qualify for the written test to become a Loco Pilot. After this, to become a loco pilot, candidates have to go through an interview.
Shortlisted candidates will be medically examined. After clearing the written test, interview, and medical test, selected candidates for the loco pilot are given the training to run train and metro rail, etc.
