Shiva-Parvati marriage and the question of father's name
Lord Shiva told that when he was getting married to Goddess Parvati in Himachal, Lord Brahma became the priest of that marriage. During the marriage, when the question of gotra and father's name arose, everyone became silent for a moment. The thing to think about was that how could the one who is the origin of the universe himself tell the name of his father? When Brahma asked who your father is, Shiva replied Brahma. Then when asked the name of Brahma's father, Shiva said Vishnu. When asked the name of Vishnu's father, i.e. great grandfather, Shiva calmly said - "That is me."
