How to Check Voter List Online: Discussions have begun about making voter ID mandatory instead of Aadhaar for benefits of government schemes. Union Minister Lallan Singh said in a statement that Aadhaar will soon no longer be considered valid for benefits of government schemes.
Your Aadhaar is linked to your bank account. Your eKYC has also been completed. Still, your PM Kisan Samman Nidhi funds could get stuck. We're not scaring you, but rather discussing a potential new system. Union Minister Lallan Singh recently issued a statement, suggesting that in the future, voter ID and biometrics could be mandatory for benefits under government schemes, instead of Aadhaar.
However, the central government has not yet taken an official stand on this matter. However, if this happens in the future, it means that the Aadhaar card will no longer be mandatory for all government schemes , including the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi and pensions . Instead, a voter ID will become mandatory. If this happens, you will need a voter ID to avail of government benefits.https://navbharattimes.indiatimes.com/government-schemes
What did the Union Minister say?
Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh, also known as Lallan Singh, stated at a workshop on the People's Plan Campaign that Aadhaar cards will no longer be considered the basis for payments to beneficiaries of government schemes. He added that Aadhaar card-isolating institutions are present in every street. They will make your Aadhaar card in five minutes. Instead, biometrics and the EPIC number of your voter ID will be required, and payments will be made based on these.
Meaning Voter ID will once again be the 'king'
If the central government is working seriously on this scheme, then voter ID will be king everywhere instead of Aadhar card. Be it making Ayushman card or getting pension or availing the benefits of any other government scheme. According to the PIB report, 98.88 crore voter IDs were made in the country till February 2024. However, due to SIR, lakhs of names have been removed from the voter list in many states. If you do not have a voter ID or your name has been removed from the voter list, then this decision can cause trouble. After SIR, if you have been issued a notice to submit documents, then do this work as soon as possible.
