Central employees are awaiting the 8th Pay Commission, though it will take some time. Before that, the 8th Pay Commission will hold new meetings in September 2026 in major cities across India as part of a nationwide consultation process to interact with employee and pensioner organizations. During this period, the Commission, under the chairmanship of former Supreme Court Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai, will hold meetings with central employees, pensioners, and various unions to hear their suggestions and demands.

Bengaluru – 7 and 8 October 2026 (New notice issued recently)

In addition, the Commission plans to visit railway departments under the Central Railway Zone in Mumbai to gather information about the working conditions of railway employees. It should be noted that the deadline for applying for appointments and attending meetings in Jaipur, Chennai, and Puducherry was August 18, 2026, which has now passed.
