His friend, Ida Sabelis, and his partner, Jupp, assisted him in this experiment. The goal was to observe the changes occurring within the body during intimate moments. Everything was conducted solely in the name of research and under scientific supervision. It was then decided that a couple would enter an MRI machine, have intercourse, and then, through the technology, observe the changes in their bodies, thus initiating the research.

The biggest challenge was fitting into the small space.

It's worth noting that MRI machines of that era weren't as comfortable as they are today. Space was limited, so the usual positions weren't possible. So, the two men adopted a comfortable lying-on-their-sides position. Throughout the procedure, they received instructions from the control room, sometimes asking them to remain in that position for a few moments to ensure clear images.

The results of this experiment were later published in the British Medical Journal in 1999. The images and findings became widely discussed in the medical world and contributed to a better understanding of women's bodies. Years later, Aida Sabelis recalled this experience in a podcast, calling it "funny but memorable." According to Aida, initially, things didn't go as planned. Fitting inside the machine was the biggest challenge. She laughed and explained that when she realized the planned procedure wouldn't work, she had to change course immediately.
