Muhammad Ali Jinnah Hindu Connection: In Pahalgam, Pakistani terrorists shot tourists after asking their religion, but the descendants of Muhammad Ali Jinnah were Hindus.
Pakistan Two Nation Theory: Even though Pakistan was born on the basis of religion and no matter how much the Two Nation Theory is sung, but from its founder Mohammad Ali Jinnah and Tarana-e-Milli writer Allama Iqbal to the Bhutto family, all their ancestors were Hindus. Jinnah partitioned India and created Pakistan by demanding a separate country for Muslims.
We will talk about some such big leaders and personalities of Pakistan who have at some point of time admitted that their ancestors were Hindus and later adopted Islam. The surprising thing is that the father of Jinnah, about whom Pakistan keeps giving knowledge of the Two Nation Theory, had changed his religion just out of resentment and anger.
Ancestors of Muhammad Ali Jinnah
Jinnah's father was born in a Hindu family and his family lived in Paneli village of Kathiawada in Gujarat. Jinnah's grandfather's name was Premjibhai Meghji Thakkar and he was a very big fish trader and his business was spread to foreign countries. He belonged to the Lohna caste, who are basically Vaishyas and live in Gujarat, Sindh and Kutch region. People of his caste did not like his business. People of the Lohna community were staunch vegetarians. Due to this, he started facing opposition.
Akbar S. Ahmed's book Jinnah, Pakistan and Islamic Identity gives detailed information about his roots. According to it, after the boycott, Premji remained a Hindu but his son and Jinnah's father Punjalal Thakkar found this thing insulting and he changed his religion along with his wife and four children by then. All of them became Muslims. However, Premji's other sons did not change their religion and remained Hindus. It is also said that many of Jinnah's relatives are still Hindus and live in Gujarat. Not only this, Jinnah married a Parsi girl and his daughter also married a Parsi, at present Jinnah's grandchildren are Parsis.
Allama Iqbal
Sare Jahan Se Achcha Hindustan Hamara... The ancestors of Iqbal, who wrote Tarana-e-Hind, were also Hindus. Actually, Iqbal was born in 1877 in Sialkot, Punjab, which is now in Pakistan. His family was Kashmiri Hindu but in the 17th century, his family had adopted the Muslim religion. He himself has mentioned in one of his poems that the family is Brahmin but they have Sufi Islam. Iqbal, who wrote Sare Jahan Se Achcha, changed so much that he wrote Tarana-e-Milli - Muslim Hain Hum, Watan Hai Sara Jahan Hamara.
Bhutto Family
Bilawal Bhutto, who is giving statements from Pakistan that if the water of Indus is stopped, rivers of blood will flow, his family was also once Hindu. His mother Benazir Bhutto herself had said that her ancestors were Rajputs. Recently, in a debate on a news channel, BJP leader Sudhanshu Trivedi said that Benazir Bhutto has written in her autobiography that we were told in our childhood that we are from the Rajput clan of Hindus.
Maulana Tariq Jameel
Pakistan's famous Maulana Tariq Jameel himself has admitted that his ancestors were Hindus and descendants of Prithviraj Chauhan. He once said, "Prithviraj Chauhan was killed by Mohammad Gauri Rahmatullah Alaih. He had a son Ramdev Chauhan who was converted to Islam by Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Rahmatullah Alaih. We all are descendants of that Ramdev Chauhan." However, Ramdev Chauhan was not the son of Prithviraj Chauhan but his great-grandson. Ramdev Chauhan was the son of Maharao Hammirdev Hathi Chauhan, son of Govind Raj Chauhan.
Former Pakistani Cricketer Saqlain Mushtaq
Not only this, former cricketer Saqlain Mushtaq has also admitted that his ancestors were Hindus. He revealed this during a discussion on a Pakistani TV channel. He said, "His family is from Amritsar and his grandfather's name was Rood Singh. Who later became a Muslim and then came to Pakistan from India." Recalling his generation, he said, "First Rood Singh, then Umangdin, then Laldin and then Mushtaq Ahmed and then us."
