Social media platforms, especially YouTube, have become a powerful learning tool for many students across India. One such inspiring story is of Vikas from Uttar Pradesh, who overcame financial hurdles to achieve remarkable success in the JEE Advanced 2025 exam.
Vikas’s father, Rajkumar, works as a mason and could not afford expensive coaching classes for his son’s engineering entrance exam preparation. Undeterred, Vikas took charge of his own studies, relying solely on YouTube videos and free online resources. His dedication paid off, and he successfully cleared the JEE Advanced exam.
According to reports, Vikas secured an overall rank of 978 in JEE Advanced, and an impressive 64th rank in the SC category. His achievement is a shining example that lack of resources cannot stop determination and hard work. Vikas’s story inspires many students from financially weak backgrounds who dream big but struggle to afford coaching.
Studying 12 to 14 Hours Daily with Limited Resources
Vikas hails from Baheri village in Kaundhiara, Prayagraj. He studied for 12 to 14 hours every day, showing incredible dedication. He wanted to move to the city for better education but couldn’t due to financial constraints. Instead, he enrolled in Madan Mohan Malviya Inter College near his village and completed his 12th grade in 2022.
With some effort, he managed to buy a mobile phone and started preparing for JEE using YouTube study material. His self-study journey is a testament to how technology can bridge educational gaps.
Dream to Serve the Country as an IAS Officer
Vikas scored an outstanding 99.96 percentile in JEE Mains, securing the 96th rank nationally. This boosted his confidence and helped him succeed in JEE Advanced as well. He plans to pursue B.Tech from IIT Madras and aspires to serve India by becoming an IAS officer in the future.
Vikas’s story proves that with determination and the right mindset, no obstacle is too big to overcome. His journey encourages many students to make the best use of available resources and follow their dreams.
