Anaya Bangar Shares Her Journey After Gender Transition: Lost Weight, Reveals Body Secrets to Pursue Cricket Dream

Anaya Bangar has been in the spotlight recently after her inspiring transformation from male to female through hormone therapy. Formerly known as Aryan Bangar, son of ex-Indian cricketer Sanjay Bangar, Anaya has not let go of her deep passion for cricket despite this major change.

A Step Taken for Love of Cricket

Before transitioning, Aryan was a promising left-handed spin all-rounder playing alongside talents like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan in youth cricket. But after embracing her identity as Anaya, she now faces challenges pursuing her cricket dreams in the women’s circuit.

To support her cause, Anaya has shared detailed 8-week medical test reports conducted from January 20 to March 20, 2025, under Dr. Blair Hamilton’s supervision. This was to demonstrate her fitness and eligibility to play women's cricket, appealing to ICC and BCCI to review her case based on this scientific data.

Weight Loss and Body Transformation

Anaya’s report revealed that she lost around 3 kg during these 8 weeks, dropping from 71 kg to 68.1 kg. This weight loss is part of her commitment to adapt physically for the sport in her new identity.

Beyond weight, the tests also disclosed other important health markers such as sleep duration, blood pressure, hemoglobin levels comparable to females, and sugar levels, shedding light on how her body has adjusted post-transition.

The Road Ahead

Anaya Bangar has openly shared her body’s transformation and health journey, hoping it will open doors for her to play women’s cricket. However, whether her appeal will lead to recognition and opportunity in professional cricket remains an uncertain path.
