The ICC has announced the results of its official hearing regarding the India vs. Pakistan matches during the Asia Cup. Pakistan's Haris Rauf has been banned for two matches, while Suryakumar Yadav has been fined 30 percent of his match fee and handed two demerit points.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) meeting began today (Tuesday) in Dubai. The Asia Cup controversy was raised during the meeting, leading to this decision. The hearing was conducted by members of the ICC's Elite Panel of Match Referees following incidents that occurred during matches between the arch-rivals on September 14, 21, and 28.
Suryakumar was found guilty
Suryakumar was found guilty of breaching Article 2.21 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which relates to conduct bringing the game into disrepute. Sahibzada Farhan was also found guilty of the same offence and was given an official warning and one demerit point for celebrating with a gun after scoring a half-century against India during the Super 4 match in Dubai. Arshdeep Singh was found not guilty of an alleged breach of Article 2, as his gesture went viral after India's victory in the Super 4 match.
Jasprit Bumrah made the same gesture that Rauf had made after dismissing the Pakistani bowler during the Super 4 match and accepted the punishment of one demerit point.

September 14, 2025 – India vs. Pakistan
Following a hearing conducted by ICC Match Referee Richie Richardson
Suryakumar Yadav (India) was found guilty of breaching Article 2.21 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which relates to conduct bringing the game into disrepute. He was fined 30 percent of his match fee and given two demerit points.
S. Farhan (Pakistan) was found guilty of the same offence and was issued an official warning and given one demerit point.
Haris Rauf (Pakistan) was also found guilty of the same offence and was fined 30 percent of his match fee and handed two demerit points as a result.
September 21, 2025 – India vs. Pakistan
Following a hearing conducted by ICC Match Referee Andy Pycroft.
Arshdeep Singh (India) was found not guilty of the alleged breach of Article 2.6, which relates to using obscene, offensive or insulting gestures, and therefore received no sanction.
September 28, 2025 – Final, India vs. Pakistan
Jasprit Bumrah (India) pleaded guilty to conduct brought into disrepute under Article 2.21 of the ICC Code of Conduct and accepted the proposed sanction of an official warning, resulting in one demerit point. As he accepted the sanction, no formal hearing was required.
Following a hearing conducted by ICC Match Referee Richie Richardson, Haris Rauf (Pakistan) was again found guilty of breaching Article 2.21 of the ICC Code of Conduct. He was fined 30 percent of his match fee and given two additional demerit points.
