Asia Cup Rising Stars 2026: India Reach Final for Second Straight Time, Pakistan Clash Possible

Even as the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 grabs headlines, Indian cricket fans have another reason to celebrate. The India women's A cricket team have booked their place in the final of the Women's Asia Cup Rising Stars 2026 for the second consecutive time. In the semi-final played at the Terdthai Cricket Ground, India defeated Sri Lanka women's A cricket team by five wickets in a convincing performance.

Batting first after winning the toss, Sri Lanka struggled against disciplined Indian bowling and were bowled out for just 118 runs in 19.4 overs. Sanjana Kavindi was the top scorer with 31 off 35 balls, while Shashini Gimhani added a brisk 22 from 17 deliveries. Hansima Karunaratne chipped in with 14 and Sathya Sandipani scored 15, but none of the batters could build a big partnership. India captain Radha Yadav led from the front with the ball, claiming four wickets for 19 runs in 3.4 overs. She was well supported by Prema Rawat, who took 2 for 9, and Tanuja Kanwar, who also picked up two wickets to keep Sri Lanka under tight control.

In reply, India made light work of the target. Opener Vrinda Dinesh set the tone with a blistering 42 off just 20 balls, smashing eight boundaries. Anushka Sharma followed it up with a quick 27 from 18 deliveries, ensuring there were no hiccups in the chase. Captain Radha Yadav then calmly finished the match, remaining unbeaten on 31 as India reached the target in just 13.3 overs, losing five wickets.

With this win, India have once again stormed into the final and will now be eyeing the trophy. A high-voltage clash against Pakistan women's A cricket team is on the cards if Pakistan make it through the other semi-final, setting up an exciting finish to the tournament.
