Battle of Galwan: Neither Eid nor Diwali… Now Salman Khan to Follow Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘King’ Strategy! When Will the Film Release?

Bollywood’s two biggest superstars, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, are gearing up to clash at the box office next year — and fans couldn’t be more excited! While Shah Rukh will make a comeback with King, Salman Khan is busy shooting his next big film, Battle of Galwan, directed by Apoorva Lakhia.

The film’s first schedule kicked off in Ladakh, where some major war sequences were filmed. The team has now moved to Mumbai, where a song shoot is underway. Meanwhile, reports suggest that Salman has also made a surprise cameo appearance in Riteish Deshmukh’s upcoming film. But the biggest buzz right now is about Battle of Galwan’s release plan.

Sikander’s Failure, Tiger 3’s Lukewarm Response
After Sikander tanked at the box office earlier this year and Tiger 3 managed decent numbers but failed to create the expected magic, Salman is reportedly changing his release strategy. According to insiders, his team may follow Shah Rukh Khan’s “King” playbook — where a strong pre-birthday teaser and aggressive marketing build-up created massive buzz before release.

When Will ‘Battle of Galwan’ Release?
As per reports, the shooting of Battle of Galwan will wrap up by December 2025. Initially, the makers were eyeing a January or June 2026 release, but January has now been ruled out due to post-production delays. The focus is currently on a mid-year release window — likely July or August 2026.

Salman Khan’s Birthday Surprise
If the buzz is to be believed, Salman might just give fans a birthday gift on December 27. The makers are planning to drop either a teaser or a special video from Battle of Galwan, mirroring the way SRK unveiled King’s first look on his 60th birthday.

About the Film
Battle of Galwan is expected to be one of the biggest war dramas in Bollywood history, inspired by real events at the India-China border. Salman will reportedly be seen in a never-before-seen avatar, and his intense first-look photos — featuring him shirtless and battle-ready — have already taken the internet by storm.

With King and Battle of Galwan both on the horizon, 2026 might just witness a Salman vs Shah Rukh showdown that brings back the magic of Bollywood’s biggest rivalry — and friendship — on screen and off it.
