Bollywood actress Kiara Advani was last seen in the big-budget action film War 2, where she shared screen space with superstars Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR. Despite massive expectations and a huge budget, the film failed to impress at the box office.
Now, Kiara is gearing up for another high-profile project—Toxic—a much-anticipated South Indian film led by Kannada superstar Yash. While fans are excited about this new pairing, few remember that Kiara has already been part of a major South Indian box-office disaster worth ₹450 crore.
Over a Decade in Cinema, Including South Films
Kiara Advani has spent nearly 12 years in the film industry and has delivered several successful Bollywood films. Alongside Hindi cinema, she has also explored South Indian cinema and worked with some of its biggest stars.
She made her Bollywood debut in 2014 with Fugly, directed by Kabir Sadanand and produced by Akshay Kumar. Her South Indian debut came in 2018 with Bharat Ane Nenu, where she starred opposite Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu.
₹450 Crore Film With Ram Charan Turned Out a Disaster
Kiara later teamed up with South megastar Ram Charan in the political-action drama Game Changer. Released on January 10, 2025, the film was made on a staggering budget of ₹450 crore.
However, the movie failed to connect with audiences and turned into a box-office disaster, managing to earn only around ₹131 crore in India—far below expectations.
‘Toxic’ Set for Big Box-Office Clash
Despite past setbacks, Kiara Advani is once again stepping into a major South Indian project with Toxic. Apart from Yash and Kiara, the film also stars Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, and Rukmini Vasanth.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film is scheduled to release on March 19. It will face tough competition at the box office from Dhurandhar 2, starring Ranveer Singh, which is releasing on the same day.
