The Supreme Court directed the Haryana DGP to form a three-member SIT headed by an IG rank officer to investigate the case against Professor Ali Khan Mahmoodabad. The court also barred Mahmoodabad from writing any further online posts on the India-Pakistan conflict.

Ali Khan had said that the arrest was wrong

After being arrested in the case of commenting on Operation Sindoor, Associate Professor Ali Khan Mahmoodabad of Ashoka University, Sonipat, had approached the Supreme Court on Monday for relief. Ali Khan had filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging his arrest. A plea was made on his behalf for an early hearing on which the court had assured to list the case for hearing soon.
