Along with this, the court gave a stern warning to Mahmoodabad and said that you should avoid using such words to gain cheap popularity.

The Supreme Court questioned the choice of words on Professor Ali Khan's social media post and said that such words were used to insult others and make them uncomfortable. Although everyone has the right to freedom of expression, why was such a comment made now?
The Supreme Court refused to stay the investigation into the case
The Supreme Court directed the Haryana DGP to form a three-member SIT headed by an IG rank officer to investigate the case against Professor Ali Khan Mahmoodabad. The court also barred Mahmoodabad from writing any further online posts on the India-Pakistan conflict.
Ali Khan had said that the arrest was wrong
After being arrested in the case of commenting on Operation Sindoor, Associate Professor Ali Khan Mahmoodabad of Ashoka University, Sonipat, had approached the Supreme Court on Monday for relief. Ali Khan had filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging his arrest. A plea was made on his behalf for an early hearing on which the court had assured to list the case for hearing soon.
Ali Khan had filed a petition in the Supreme Court calling his arrest wrong. On Monday, senior advocate Kapil Sibal mentioned the petition before a bench of Chief Justice BR Gavai and Augustine George Masih. Sibal had said that he was arrested for making patriotic statements.

It is noteworthy that the arrest of Professor Ali Khan has become a big issue. He is getting support on social media. More than 1,100 people have signed a petition demanding his release. The same petition has been filed in the Supreme Court. On the other hand, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former BJP MP from Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, Ritesh Pandey also called the professor's arrest unfortunate.
