Sarthak Ranjan, son of Pappu Yadav, an independent MP from Purnia, Bihar, will be playing in IPL 2026. The Kolkata Knight Riders have purchased Sarthak Ranjan for ₹30 lakh. His father, Pappu Yadav, is extremely happy with Sarthak Ranjan's entry into the IPL. Pappu Yadav himself shared this information in a post on Instagram.
Pappu Yadav shared a photo of his son on Instagram and wrote, "Congratulations, son... play hard... make your mark with your talent, fulfill your desires! Now, we will be known by the name of Sarthak!"

Sarthak's base price was ₹30 lakh, and he joined Shah Rukh Khan's co-owned KKR for that price. This will be Sarthak's first IPL appearance.
Sarthak Ranjan's cricket career
Sarthak Ranjan was born on September 25, 1996. His father, Pappu Yadav, is an independent Member of Parliament from the Purnia Lok Sabha constituency. Sarthak Ranjan plays for Delhi. He made his T20I debut on January 2, 2016, in the 2015–16 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
He made his List A debut for Delhi in the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy on 25 February 2017. He then made his first-class debut for Delhi in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy on 20 November 2018.
It is worth noting that Sarthak Ranjan scored approximately 448 runs in nine matches in the Delhi Premier League. His performance, especially during the 2025 Delhi Premier League, was particularly impressive for the North Delhi Strikers.
