Cinema Flashback: Many stories related to Dev Anand and his real and reel life are heard. But this story told by veteran actress Mumtaz is very interesting and unheard. The actress had told that when she was listening to the narration of a story in Dev Sahab's room, three women came out of his cupboard, seeing whom the actress was very surprised.
Famous actress of the 70s Mumtaz said that in earlier times it was very difficult to keep oneself in tip-top shape. Today's times have changed a lot. Earlier there were not so many resources. When people used to come to me to take photos, I used to feel very good. However, even today people give me the same love as before.
Mumtaz told during this time that Dev Anand was always very worried about his looks. Everything about him should be perfect. Hair...look...clothes... He once told me that even if an actor dies, his dead body should look good. I was quite surprised to hear this from him.
The actress further said that Dev sahab told me that you should take care of your hair, figure and yourself. Because you are what you look like. When you walk on the road, men as well as women should turn their heads and look at you. If you take care of yourself, then you will not worry about age.
Mumtaz said that even at 85, Dev sahab proved that age is just a number for him. When he got the makeup man to open the door of his room, three women were looking in from outside. He told those women that he would meet them later and closed the door. He told me that baby, I still have many options. I was surprised to see all this... I just said wow Dev sahab wow....
