Driving License: If you find yourself speeding or disobeying traffic rules on Delhi's roads, you need to be cautious. Violators could face dire consequences.
Strictness in traffic rules: With the rapidly increasing number of road incidents in the national capital, Delhi, the Delhi Traffic Police is now tightening its grip on traffic violators. New traffic challan rules will not only be enforced in Delhi, but violators will also face hefty fines and complete suspension of their driving licenses.
The invoice will have to be settled within 45 days.
In fact, according to new traffic rules, drivers must pay their traffic challan within 45 days of receiving it. Failure to do so could result in strict action against the driver and a hefty fine.
On the other hand, if a driver wishes to challenge a challan in court, they must first file an online complaint and pay 50 percent of the fine. However, it's important to note that strict action will be taken against those who repeatedly ignore challans, including services like blocking driving licenses and vehicle registrations, which are currently fully included in this new rule.
There will be no mercy for those who continuously violate the rules.
The Delhi Traffic Police is now cracking down on drivers who frequently overspeed or flout traffic rules. The driving licenses of such drivers will now be temporarily suspended. Several Delhi Police traffic officers explained that simply imposing fines won't bring about change, but that tough action is crucial to ensure reforms among such drivers.
It is important to create awareness among people about safety
Furthermore, traffic police officials believe that road safety isn't just achieved by issuing hefty fines; it's also crucial for people to be self-aware. No one knows the dangers even a small negligence can pose. However, being self-aware and following the rules while driving can also increase awareness among the drivers around them.
