The year 2025 has seen a surprising trend — while several big-budget films failed to impress, smaller and mid-scale movies have managed to make waves. Now, as the year nears its end, a new box-office battle is on the horizon. Ranveer Singh is ready to return to the big screen with Dhurandhar, set to release on December 5. The film’s first look and a song have already generated buzz, and the makers are now accelerating their promotional campaign with a strategic new move.
Alongside Ranveer Singh, the film stars Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Akshaye Khanna — all in intense and gritty roles. Directed by Aditya Dhar and backed by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, Dhurandhar promises to be a powerful action thriller.
According to reports, the makers have planned a grand trailer launch event on November 12, just three days before the much-anticipated event of SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu’s upcoming mega project, tentatively titled SSMB29. The Dhurandhar team’s move is seen as a smart marketing strategy to grab attention before the Rajamouli–Mahesh Babu storm takes over the headlines.
While the exact location of the trailer launch hasn’t been disclosed yet, it’s expected to take place at a high-profile venue in Mumbai, with fans and media in attendance. The trailer will also be unveiled simultaneously across digital platforms to maximize reach.
After the trailer’s release, full-scale promotions will roll out towards the end of November, with Ranveer Singh expected to take center stage in nationwide events and media interactions.
Meanwhile, SSMB29’s title and concept reveal event, which will reportedly mark the beginning of a ₹1000 crore cinematic venture, is scheduled for November 15 and will be streamed live on Jio Hotstar.
With Dhurandhar releasing just weeks later, Ranveer Singh’s bold timing and aggressive promotional push suggest he’s aiming to dominate the box office before one of the biggest films in Indian cinema history takes flight. Whether this move pays off will be seen once the trailers of both cinematic giants face off in November.
