“Don’t Cut His Body Into Pieces…”: Father's Heart-Wrenching Plea After Losing Only Son in Bengaluru Stampede

While Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) historic IPL 2025 win should have been a moment of celebration, a tragic stampede at Bengaluru's Chinnaswamy Stadium turned the joy into mourning. Amid the chaos that unfolded during the celebration event, 11 people lost their lives, and many others were injured.

Among the deceased was the only son of a grieving father, whose emotional outburst has shaken the nation.

Father's Pain: “I Lost My Only Son”

With tears in his eyes and heartbreak in his voice, the father pleaded,

“Don’t do a post-mortem… just give me my son's body. Don’t cut him into pieces.”

He added,

“He was my only son. He came here without informing me… and now he is gone. The CM and Deputy CM will come and offer condolences, but who will bring back my son?”

His emotional plea has struck a deep chord across social media and the nation.

How the Stampede Happened: Rumours Trigger Chaos

The stampede occurred outside Chinnaswamy Stadium, where a massive crowd had gathered to celebrate RCB’s first IPL title win in 18 years. While fans were excited to be part of history, a rumour about free tickets circulating on social media turned the situation dangerous.

As the rumour spread, thousands rushed to the venue, overwhelming the arrangements. The celebration continued inside, but outside, the situation spiraled out of control. In the rush to get inside, people began pushing, and the crowd turned into a stampede.

CM Orders Probe, PM Expresses Grief

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has ordered a high-level inquiry into the incident. A report has been requested within 15 days to determine how crowd control failed and what led to the tragedy.

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar expressed regret over the incident, saying,

“We tried to keep the program short and under control, but lathi-charge was not an option with such a young crowd.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also condoled the deaths, stating:

“In this tragic moment, my thoughts are with those who lost their loved ones. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.”

A Celebration Turned Tragic

What was meant to be a once-in-a-lifetime celebration for cricket fans ended in disaster. The incident serves as a grim reminder of the importance of crowd management, planning, and communication, especially during large-scale public events.

The grief of a father who lost his only son is now a symbol of the deep personal losses behind the headline numbers. As the city mourns, questions remain: Could this have been prevented? And who will be held accountable?
