Emergency landing due to lightning striking the flight going from Delhi to Srinagar, front part of the plane broke

IndiGo flight 6E-2142 from Delhi to Srinagar was hit by severe turbulence and lightning due to bad weather. All 227 passengers on board the plane are safe and made an emergency landing at Srinagar airport.

There was a panic on IndiGo flight 6E-2142 from Delhi to Srinagar today when the plane faced intense turbulence and lightning amid bad weather. The incident happened when the flight was over Srinagar and there was heavy rain and hailstorm along with strong winds. According to sources, all 227 passengers and crew members on board the plane are safe, and the flight made an emergency landing at Srinagar airport.
According to eyewitnesses, the plane suddenly felt strong tremors when it was passing through bad weather. In the video shared on social media, a state of panic and instability can be seen among the passengers. IndiGo issued a statement saying that the plane has been temporarily removed from the flight for technical checks and the safety of all passengers has been ensured.
IndiGo's statement came
IndiGo issued an official statement on this incident and said, "IndiGo flight 6E-2142 from Delhi to Srinagar faced sudden hailstorm en route. The flight and cabin crew followed the established protocol and the aircraft was landed safely in Srinagar. After the arrival of the aircraft, the airport team took care of the customers and prioritized their well-being and comfort. The aircraft will be released after necessary inspection and maintenance."
Weather changed in North India
With this incident, the weather has suddenly changed in many states of North India including Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of strong winds, thunderstorms and light to moderate rain in these areas. After the humid heat throughout the day in Delhi, winds blew at a speed of 60 kmph and it rained in the evening, causing a drop in temperature.
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of strong winds (40-50 km/h) and rain with thunderstorms in many states for the next 24 hours. There is also a possibility of landslides in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir, due to which the administration has been instructed to remain alert.
