In this way, 30% TDS is deducted on the money won, while the person also has to pay tax. 

Let us tell you that if someone wins Rs 3 crore, then about Rs 90 lakh TDS will be deducted from it. After this, Rs 2 crore 10 lakh will be received and from this also the winner will have to pay the tax liability by filing income tax return which amounts to Rs 1 crore 17 lakh. After deducting everything, the person will get a total of only Rs 1 crore 83 lakh.
